The Musicnotes Player app for iOS supports hands-free page turns with a variety of Bluetooth pedals. AirTurn offers a 10% discount to Musicnotes.com customers. Purchase pedals from AirTurn and other pedal manufacturers below.
In order to enable your Bluetooth pedal for use with the Musicnotes app, you must first sync it with your phone or tablet. Please also keep the following in mind:
- Bluetooth pedals act as a connected keyboard, and therefore will hide the on-screen keyboard during use. For this reason, you will not be able to sign in to your Musicnotes account or use text markup while a Bluetooth pedal is on and synced with your device. Simply turn the pedal off if you need to use the on-screen keyboard for any reason.
- During Playback within a piece of music, page turns are controlled by the timing of the music, and not your Bluetooth pedal. Therefore, you will not be able to turn pages while your music is Playing or Paused (only when Stopped or in Viewing mode).

Musicnotes Player v.2.18.1 or older:
The instructions below are retained for app users using Musicnotes Player for iOS app version 2.18.1 or older, so that if you had previously used these steps, you will be able to reverse the changes on your device.
Starting with iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1, Apple had modified how the Operating System handles external keyboards, in conjunction with Accessibility settings and controls. With this update, hands-free pedals that use Arrow Up/Arrow Down and/or Arrow Left/Arrow Right, the hands-free pedal will cycle a cursor through the various buttons when you are viewing a song, rather than turning pages.
The following instructions will walk you the steps to allow you to use the Arrow Up/Arrow Down and/or Arrow Left/Arrow Right to turn pages in the Musicnotes app.
Disclaimer:
Please note: If you use any accessibility settings, these settings may affect other keyboard settings with your iOS/iPadOS device. We would recommend checking your hands-free device's user manual, and use the Spacebar/Enter mode; if your hands-free device does not support the Spacebar/Enter mode, we would recommend using a different hand-free device.

- Tap on Accessibility.
- Tap on Keyboards, located under Physical and Motor.
