What is the Musicnotes Marketplace?
Musicnotes Marketplace is a place for musicians to sign up as Marketplace Creators, and empowers these Creators to be able to self-publish their own works and arrangements, and be available to over 8 million Musicnotes customers world-wide!
How it works:
How is licensing and/or copyright handled?
For copyrighted works uploaded to Marketplace, the Marketplace arrangements will use the same licensing and copyright as the Musicnotes version of the selected song.
How are royalties handled?
Musicnotes Marketplace automatically calculates royalties based on the classification of the song at the time of upload.
What can I upload?
What format can I upload in?
Marketplace Creators will be able to upload their arrangements in PDF file format.
Do you offer music engraving software to create my arrangements?
Musicnotes does not supply music engraving software at this time. However, most modern music engraving software will have the option to export the file as a PDF.
What kinds of music can I upload?
You can upload
- Original works,
- Public Domain works, and
- Copyright works*
- *Provided Musicnotes has licenses for the music. Marketplace Creators will be able to easily search our available copyrighted songs.
For copyrighted music that you do not own:
Can I upload a book or a collection of full-length, separate songs as a single product?
Musicnotes Marketplace does not support books or collections at this time.
Can I upload an arrangement that is a medley of different songs?
Musicnotes Marketplace does not support uploading medleys at this time.
When will my uploaded arrangements be available for purchase?
Once uploaded, most arrangements will be processed within 24-48 hours, and then be available for sale!
