The Markup Menu
To add markup to your music while in view mode, select the Markup menu button from the top toolbar on larger screen devices, or from the three dot menu on smaller screen devices.
From here you can choose to add Text, Pen, or Highlighter notations on your sheet music. Or, you can choose to delete all (by tapping on the trash can icon) or hide (by tapping on the "Visible" button to change) the markups that are already there.
Each tool also has its own sub-menu that allows you to select that tool's settings for a given piece. Switching tools and their properties will automatically activate the tool.
When you are finished using any markup tool, close the menu by tapping outside of the pop-up.
Text Comments
To add a text comment to a piece of music you are working with, select "Text Comments" from the markup menu. Your sheet music will now appear "highlighted." Tap on the page where you would like your comment to appear.
After you tap to add your text comment, a text editor window will display. For a new text comment, tap inside the box, and the keyboard will appear. The editor window allows you to select a font, size, and color.
To edit a comment that already exists, tap it quickly and the editor window will display. You can also delete a comment using the editor window by tapping the Delete button at the top of the window.
Once your text is added to the page, you may hold your finger on it for a few seconds to enable dragging functionality so you can re-position it.
Highlighter
From the markup menu you can change the tool to highlighter. When drawing with a highlighter, the mark made will be transparent, and the music on the page (as well as other markups) will be visible through it.
When using the highlighter you can also choose the size of the line and the color you are using. There is also an eraser option that you can select from the end of the color list. Anywhere you touch on the page will be highlighted with the color and size that you selected.
Pen
From the markup menu you can change the tool to pen. When drawing with a pen, the mark made will be solid, and will write over other items on the page (including the notation and other markups).
When using the pen you can choose the size and color of the line. There is also an eraser option that you can select from the end of the color list. Anywhere you touch on the page will be marked with the color and size of pen that you selected.
Markup Sync
Musicnotes Pro members can sync their markup notations between iOS, Android, Windows and Kindle Fire devices.
