What is a PDF add-on, and what can I do with it?
Our standard Musicnotes sheet music product includes the option to print your purchased music and/or download the digital copy to any of our free Musicnotes apps.
Once you have either previously purchased the standard Musicnotes sheet music product, or at the time of purchasing the standard Musicnotes sheet music product, you will have the opportunity to also purchase the PDF add-on product for the select arrangement.
The PDF add-on is a static, digital file for use on mobile devices and computers for personal use only, and PDF add-ons are not authorized for printing. As the PDF add-on product is intended to be used solely by the customer who purchased the optional add-on, you are prohibited from distributing the file. The benefit of the PDF add-on files is that they can be used independently of the Musicnotes apps within third-party applications and programs.*
Features:
- Once purchased, the PDF add-ons are available to download in any or all of the available keys for the standard sheet music product
- Please note: Standard Musicnotes sheet music products will list available transpositions on the product page; it is not necessary to purchase the PDF add-on to "unlock" transpositions.
- For additional information about transpositions, please see How do I change the key of a digital sheet music product available on your site? and How do I change the key of something I've already printed?
- Can be viewed independently from the Musicnotes apps
- PDF add-ons are included with purchases of standard sheet music products made while your account has an active Musicnotes Pro - Premium or Musicnotes Pro (formerly Pro - Plus) subscription.
- Please note: for any standard Musicnotes sheet music products purchased prior to subscribing to either the Musicnotes Pro - Premium or Musicnotes Pro (formerly Pro - Plus) plans, you will need to purchase the PDF add-ons separately. For these individual purchases, regardless whether your Pro - Premium or Pro (formerly Pro - Plus) subscription is active or not, you will have continuing access to these; should your Pro - Premium or Pro (formerly Pro - Plus) subscription lapse, you will not be able to access the PDF add-ons (included with your Pro - Premium or Pro [formerly Pro - Plus] subscription) for standard sheet music products purchased during your subscription period.

I bought a song in a different key, but I am not seeing this key.
Safari users running macOS:
Newer versions of Safari on macOS will automatically hide the scroll bar by default, so when attempting to download a PDF add-on, you may not see the full list of available transpositions.
However, this can be remedied by scrolling through the listed transpositions, which will cause the scroll bar to display.
If you wish to change the macOS settings to always show the scroll bar, please see the following:
On your Mac, use General System Preferences to change the overall appearance of macOS, specify how you use scroll bars, windows, and tabs, and enable some Continuity features, if available.
To change these preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General. Under General, you will find:
Show scroll bars |
Scroll bars appear in a window when there’s content that doesn’t fit into the window’s current size. Choose an option to control when scroll bars are shown:

We would recommend selecting Always.
Users running Windows 10 or Windows 11:
Newer versions of Windows will automatically hide the scroll bar by default, so when attempting to download a PDF add-on, you may not see the full list of available transpositions.
However, this can be remedied by scrolling through the listed transpositions, which will cause the scroll bar to display.
